Zip-line park project underway in Marshall County

April 16, 2012 By Josh Eachus for WTOV9

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va.-  Officials at Grand-Vue Park are showing off a project that is expected to attract thrill-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts from far and wide.

As of now, zip-liners have to travel some three hours to get the rush of gliding sky high through a canopy of trees.

Come this summer, that all will change when Grand-Vue Park unveils hundreds of feet of zip line that is expected to attract people from all over the region.

ERi

Our project manager talks to the media.

Poles are being placed, platforms being built at each landing, staircases going up to allow zip-liners to move from landing to landing. In some cases that will even require suspension bridges as a way of getting from one spot to the next.

The final order of business for crews erecting the park will be to fly the lines.

“We’ll be using a helicopter that will be pulling the cables from the starting side towards the landing side here on the ride which is the 22-hundred foot long zip,” said Experential Resources project manager Brian Brun.

Among all of the construction, project officials with Experential Resources say that are being careful to only trim and remove trees where necessary.

Officials plan on having two options for the zip-line park.

A 2,200-foot dual-line single ride will be offered for $20. For $79, there will be a guided tour that will encompass most of the park and last three to four hours.

Therefore some 20 guides will be needed for 10 months out of the year. Officials said the 20 new hires created as a result will be processed thoroughly.

“It’s not going to be just zip lining. These tour guides have to sell Marshall County. They got to sell the park, they got to know a lot about the area,” said Josh Chaplin, zip-line operations manager.

Not only will zip-lining be available during the day, some night-time events are also being planned.

Officials said the site will include a team-building facility aimed at attracting local businesses to the area..

The zip-line park is tentatively scheduled to open in June.

Grand Vue Greenlight

ERi and Grand Vue Park
We’re gearing up for a busy 2012 here at ERi! Our next project takes us to Grand Vue Park in West Virginia, where we’re set to build a zip line and adventure course that will include 12 zip lines, 4 suspension bridges and a team-building ropes course consisting of 11 elements. Work will begin shortly and should wrap up in 4 to 5 months.

Nothing makes us happier than building zip lines, but this project has a few added bonuses to really get us excited about working. First, our company has roots on the East Coast, and it will be good to be back on the old stomping grounds, not to mention reconnect with associates, friends and family. Second, we’ll be setting a record for longest zip line in West Virginia when we install a 2,400-foot dual zip line ride as part of the course! We love big achievements like this, because it is a testament to what’s possible with innovation, creativity, passion and excellence!

We’ll keep you posted as this project progresses. Call us today at 855-469-4787 to find out how ERi can help make your dream project a reality!

New Zipline and Adventure Course for

Grand Vue Park, WV

Grand Vue Park, Marshall County, WV has announced a tree-based canopy and zipline tour that will be built during the next four to five months and is expected to be ready for use by late spring or early summer.

Grand Vue Park (GVP) is considered to be West Virginia’s “Biggest & Best Kept Secret”. Located in Marshall County, WV, GVP is a 650+ acre park sprawling over ridges and ravines with, as its name implies, breathtaking overlooks of Moundsville and the Ohio Valley.

Experiential Resources Inc (ERi) was chosen to construct this new addition. ERi is the global leader in the designing and building of zip line, canopy tours and adventure courses. ERi has been a designer and builder of experience based learning elements for summer camps, YMCA’s, religious organizations, private corporations, resort destinations and schools for over 19 years.

The new elements to GVP include 2,400-foot dual zip line ride on the tour, as well as four suspension bridges, and a 12 line zip line canopy tour. The 2,400-foot zip line ride will be the longest such ride in the state, as well as a low ropes challenge course offering 11 features that will primarily be used for team building exercises.

“We are excited to develop new experiences for this amazingly beautiful location and its many visitors.” stated Todd Domeck, ERi owner.

Happy Holidays

The end of the year always prompts a bit of reflection. It’s a time when we take stock of the past and present, and look forward to the future.

At ERi we know we are truly blessed, because we’re able to do what we love every day for a living. Mark Twain once wrote: “Make your vocation your vacation”, and we think that’s good advice. To us, there’s nothing better than traveling the world building zip lines. It’s our passion, and it’s where our hearts have lead us. We’re not only a professional zip line construction company, we’re also in the business of building dreams.

As we look back at a career filled with the sun on our backs and the wind in our hair, we can’t help but be thankful. Thankful that we get to wake up every morning and look forward to the work day that awaits. We have many projects in the works, so we think we’ll get to wake up with that feeling for many years to come. What luck!

We hope this holiday season also finds you at peace, surrounded by the people and the things that you love. We hope that each new day brings you closer to your passion, and gives you the joy and happiness that each new day brings to us. Happy Holidays from ERi – Professional Zip Line Builders, Designers, and all-around happy folks!

Advice to Entrepreneurs / December 19, 2011

In these days of saturated markets, entrepreneurs have to think outside the box. (I mean, are you really going to open a coffee shop in a town with 5 Starbucks?). Nowadays, you not only have to be new, you have to be unique… and that’s why we do what we do.

So instead of looking for a building to rent, we invite you to look around outside. Do you see an area that is just PERFECT for a commercial zip line? Well, what are you waiting for?! Zip lines are a great way to turn the local landscape into a fun, eco-friendly, and lucrative business… and we’re here to help.

From first hand experience, we’re seeing that more and more people are growing tired of the next big technology trend. They’re also fed up with seeing the same corporate logos on every street. Instead, people want to feel the sun on their face and the wind in their hair. In other words, they want something a little more real. That’s why commercial zip lines are becoming increasingly popular, and at a very fast pace! And with all the media attention (our zip lines have been featured in at least 3 major TV shows) you can be sure that tourists and locals alike will have zipping on their mind.

At this point, you might be saying to yourself: “But I don’t know the first thing about running a zip line business!”. That’s OK – ERi not only builds zip lines, but also offers the training and even the day-to-day resources you’ll need. It’s our goal to make sure your business is not only profitable, but also a smooth ship to sail.

So if you’re a land owner, investor, or just someone with a dream, please watch the video and learn more. Who knows – with a little hard work, imagination, and a helping hand from ERi… anything is possible!

Continued Success!

Happy Zip LiningThese days, it seems lots of companies only “care” when they are trying to sell you something. After the final nail has been hammered, or the final check has been written, they’re gone – BUT NOT US! A continuing relationship with our clients is just as important as the first meeting. Here at ERi, we truly care about the continued success of each of our clients. After all… what’s good for the goose is good for the gander!

That’s why we’re heading back to YMCA Camp Kern where Ozone Zip Line Adventures operates. This particular project wrapped up for us back in 2009, but 3 years and many happy campers later, we’ve been called back to help them expand. We’re adding an additional zip line as well as providing some maintenance and improvements to their current course. We share their enthusiasm to keep the adventures fresh and new!

Although ERi is keeping busy with new locations, we’re still committed to achieving excellence with old friends. Never fear – we have plenty of trained and experienced team members to keep up with the demand. Stay tuned for news on even more locations and projects! Who knows – and ERi project might be coming to a town near you!

Love is in the air! Sept 6, 2011

Congratulations to Todd and Mariah!Last week was a special time in the ERi family. ERi’s fearless leader – Todd Domeck, took another “giant leap” and married his long-time love Mariah. In typical fashion, the week of the wedding showcased Todd’s passion, creativity, innovation and excellence. It was a week of coming together for old friends, zip line builders, co-workers and family members.

It was amazing to see the way that ERi has impacted so many lives. Alaska, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky, California, Hawaii and many others were there to strengthen the bonds first forged through ERi projects. Each day presented the chance to reminisce about those builds, as well as the chance to catch up on how things have been going since their completion. It wasn’t all business though – the importance of love, friendship and family remained the week’s focus.

Throughout the experience, we couldn’t help but notice how Todd puts the same essential ingredients into everything he does. It’s impossible for him to do something and say “that’s good enough”… instead, he opts for excellence and craftsmanship. Because it doesn’t matter if you’re building a zip line or building a marriage… when a true craftsman is at work, he builds something that will last a lifetime. We have a lot of faith that Todd and Mariah are on their way to building a wonderful life together!
